Set within a stunning historic building on the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Stanley Streets, the newest Michael Kors store offers three very unique features. “It’s one of the only places in Canada where you can shop all of our brands under one roof—Michael Kors Collection, MICHAEL Michael Kors and Michael Kors Mens. Our third floor space, Studio 1133, is perfect for special events, a nd I’m excited to see how our partnership with Rejuice! does on the first floor,” the designer reveals.
“It’s about luxury service and a shopping experience that can be quick if you need it to be, or leisurely and luxurious when you have time to spare.”
On either side of the store’s main entrance, dynamic displays greet customers and showcase the brand’s jet set sensibility. “The idea of jet set is rooted in the paparazzi images that I grew up with—images of Jackie O. and Steve McQueen in the ‘60s and ‘70s looking glamorous on a boat in Capri or St Bart’s one day and then walking down the street in New York the next,” shares Kors.
Once you enter the 9,000- square-foot store, the former bank’s 20-foot-high ceilings immediately catch your eye. Handbags, watches, jewelry and eyewear are displayed on stainless steel shelves. As you make your way through the first floor, white stone fixtures give way to men’s accessories and a women’s shoe salon.
Up the stairs, an intimate mezzanine houses two side-by-side women’s ready-to-wear shops. One features a seasonal selection and the other offers outerwear perfect for the Montreal climate. “In Canada, you have to be thinking about boots and outerwear. In an urban environment, especially one where you’re subjected to the elements, your coat kind of becomes your calling card. And I think anyone who lives in a city knows that you need great shoes that you can actually walk in—that perfect pair of boots and sneakers that look polished enough to wear to the office,” recommends Kors.
Michael Kors Studio 1133
For a unique VIP experience, make your private appointment and head over to the third floor, where you’ll find Michael Kors Studio 1133. This resembling an artist’s loft space is named for the store’s street address. The Studio 1133 will host exclusive events and showcase a curated selection of Michael Kors Collection.
Michael Kors First Food Concept Store
Michael Kors is also partnering with Rejuice! Nutrition, vegan and organic juice bar owned and operated by Joanna Barcessat. Accessible through the store’s first floor and a secondary entrance on Stanley Street, this is the second outpost for the local juice brand. Café style seating, textured green walls and light bites— including green juice and avocado toast—let yourself unwind from the bustle of the commercial district outside. “They’re all about staying healthy on the go, and we’re all about looking good on the go, so it made sense for both of the brands, and more importantly, for all of our customers,” explains Michael Kors.
